Hi TT,
very nice job on the kitboxes - top quality from what I can see.
2 questions: 1-What is the medium size door below the trap for? 2-why not wire bottoms?
thanks,
Ken

Ken,
My guess would be that the little door is used to get into the kit box so that you dont open the door to get one bird and one flys out...you open that door...put your body in and nothing can get out...remember my old kit boxes....I had a little door like that on my A team box....
But those are some nice lookin boxes...GOod job TT

Paul, Your right, Thank you
kcfirl, The reason why i didnt go for the mesh floor was due to the cold we get here, If i find it a problem I can always cut the floor out, frame and wire the floor later, better the starting off with wire then boarding it up after. ----------

Not to beat a dead horse, but Tony these are outstanding kit boxes! I have been looking for a design to build my first kit boxes this spring and these fit the bill. If you have any measurements or more info you want to share, my e-mail address is reynolds@wk.net. I am not to good at coming up with this stuff on my own, but I can follow directions. Some of the other guys mentioned you have a new loft, too. I am sure we would all like to see some photos of that as well. Thanks.

Vary nice, I would prefer mesh floor. I live in Mich and it gets cold here so I have wire floors then in the cool weather I have a plywood floor I put in over top the wire. I wish someone would start building these boxes and sell them in a unassembled state. could ship them flat on a pallet. Make them screw together or bolt together. Iam sure there is a high demand for such a nice kit box as these. Or at least sell the plans for this nice box.

Change of plans, I was highly advised to go the mesh route, Reduces mating while keeps the birds on the perches, Obviously ventilation lol, and diseases
Take note i will wrap the legs with lattice. ----------

Now those are extremely nice kit boxes TT I am not good at building anything near those. I'm going to hire someone to build me a double kit in a few weeks I was just going to start a thread for pictures of some designs and I come here today and bingo. I'm in Northern Ca Solano county any references of someone who has these kind of skills that can hook me up money no object. email me at RooseveltS@dreisbach.com ---------- ~~~~~~butch

If that wire screen is 1/2 by 1/2, poops will accumulate fast. I rather stick with 1" by 1".
