John, that is one of the reasons that 10 foot is "suggested" I also get a few here and there that spin hard with not a lot of drop, what is still there though is duration of roll, I myself value duration much more than actual depth.

In my opinion most judges are going to miss a bird spinning a second or two that does not separate from the kit, when 8 to 16 birds (the most common breaks) are breaking and separating, while he is trying to count them, and assess their depth, quality, and speed. Don't get me wrong...I can appreciate the performance. I just don't think it makes a good kit bird for competition. Fortunately they are rare enough that most of us won't have to worry about whether or not to include them! LOL!

The duration alone will give it seperation from those that didn't go in the break and also easily be seen by any judge worth his salt.
