Dan , good post and you make a very valid point about the NPRA.
Sorry to hear that you had to give up the birds.
Myself I allways enjoyed your input.

Scott

PS I do like to stir the pot, it gets people thinking and there is a lot to be learned as long as you sift through the B.S.

Democracy gives way to a feel good group hug...awwwhhhh, how sweet:

"This is the triumph of the therapeutic, where bipartisanship — a hug across the aisle — has become a higher value than justice.

The crisis of the house divided has been inverted; we no longer are worried about the crisis but the House, the moral, the good, and the just take a backseat to collegiality.

Does history really give a hoot about bipartisanship? Who cares whether they are getting along? The task is to do the right thing, especially in war.

But, when relativism is the highest value, agreement becomes the highest goal, regardless of right and wrong. And, woe to those who disagree, they will be sent whence they came — the outer reaches of “extremism.”...Bill Bennett

Hey Dan, welcome back.

If you do not want the newsletter, there are instructions on how to unsubscribe. In any event, I explain how and why you are included to receive one. LOL

Of the 500 or so sent out each month since September only 2 people have asked to be removed from the list.

Now lets all be nice to each other.

hello
Since I have seen one of my types of rollers brought up here I thought I would jump in and say a few things to set the angry masses at ease. first I dont ever consider my deep birds to be true type birmingham rollers. First their spin is not near tight enough, the kitting ability wont pass muster, and the body type is all wrong. they do plate twizzle and flop after their primary roll and I enjoy watching them. I also had some nice little flyers who kit tight roll frequent and have a nice velocity. not quite where I want them but they are comeing along. these birds I planned on flying in comps in the next couple years. I have suffered a major set back and will be rebuilding. but Scott have no fear when the anger subsides and the blood drains out of your eyes you will see that everyone will fly what they enjoy. My kids hate to sit and watch my comp type kits because they dont appreciate the delicate balance that makes a kit work together as we do. however they pitch a fit if I put my deep birds in the air with out them. even if it just to get or keep the kids interested in rollers untill they are old enough to see the perfectly timed breaks, cohesive smooth as grease rekit and tight ripping rolls as we do. these birds have a place in my loft. It agree their place isnt with the birmingham purest society but that shouldnt mean that they cant be flown with another club. c.j.

cj - nice post. Your not Carl Jennings are you? I notice it is your first post on this site, but it is obvious that you have been in this hobby for a while.

Glad to see you posting here.

Hi Tapp my friend, good to hear from you!
I saw two doctors (one is a pulmonary specialist and happens to be my brother). They both say that the hypersensativity or alergy to the pigeon proteins is the type of alergy that you cannot be de-sensitized to like with alergy shots that some people go through and are "cured". Each exposure will give me a stronger reaction. Having been through several of these "reactions" all agreed that I should not have any more exposure. The last one was so bad I debated going to the E.R.
This does not prevent me from attending flys and so on, I just can't spend time in a loft or handle birds. I guess it wasn't just the breathing of dust in the coops but carrying it in the house with me on my clothes. Wearing a gas mask and overclothes is just not appealing to me, especially in the summer!
I still check out the forums and work with my club but I am turning my hobby attention toward tropical fish.
