Ever wonder why some folks don't like to compete? If grown men can bicker and name call on a forum, I wonder what could happen in person? Oh yeah, didn't two well known roller men once get into a fight at a fly? Just the kind of shit we need to show that new guy who brought his family along because they were looking for a wholesome family activity! One problem with the web is, it isn't always easy to tell when someone is joking. Be careful who you throw a jab at online because the return punch could happen in real life! Hmmmmmmmmmmm!

Cliff Impressive score, maybe I under estimated those colored birds. Just as you love color, I do to, just not the same colors. I would love to, but humble decline being that I don’t have that many that looks the same or the same color lol. Now that I have taken my hat off, I will say no more.
(AND you will compete with 20 birds all one color factor, the same color.....whatever color you chose red, blue etc....they must all look alike, all W/F or all selfs, all clear tails or all mixed tail, all badges or all baldies or all unmarked heads.)

Yes, a couple of guys did get in a fight at a fly and damned if I didnt miss it. I hear it was something, both of them retirement age and beyond. If you were a promoter, you couldnt bill such a contest ...
I been wondering if we couldnt scratch a circle in the dirt and host a fight during every major fly. We could likely get alot more spectators doing that than we could just flying birds. We might even get some TV coverage, imagine what a platform we could have to promote our birds then. We could even plead our case for BOP damages, wouldnt that be great. Scott could sound his warning to the world about weiner attacking Rhode Island roosters ... The opportunities are endless ... ---------- Jon

It does not matter if we have Pure, Crested, or Colored birds; we are all pretty much cut from the same cloth... We all want the freedoms to do what we love and to protect those we love..Just as our forefathers intended it..The competitiveness and differences in the way we do things is what will move both us and our birds forward...May God Bless you all..

Scott, I think both sides made their case "FOR " 100% pure Birmingham Rollers and "FOR"" Birmingham Rollers that are less than 100% pure. That's always my, primary objective....for guys to know that they have a choice. There are good rollers on both sides of the issue...and there are bad rollers on both sides of the issue. Ther are good roller men on both sides of the issue, and there are poor sports on both sides of the issue. I personally feel that we should not allow this disagreement about colors to continue to cause ill-will and/or unkind feelings between fellow club members. There are many more productive subjects that we can disagree about. Smile.
May I take this opportunity to wish good luck and good weather to all the flyers that are looking forward to the 2009 World Cup. Cliff
PS. Scott; you, rollerman, and Mike just let me know when you are ready for that canoe trip! We'll have to hook up with Ty in Georgia, though. They got better banjo pickers! LOL!

katyroller, Though we debate these issues with passion, interestingly enough, this stuff rarely goes beyond the computer, except in isolated incidents where there are other deep-seated issues between two men. Heck, Scott and I have even had breakfast together before an NBRC Convention fly and I sat between Scott and Ken Billings at the NBRC convention in Portland! Cliff

Katyroller,.. I hope this wouldnt persuade anyone from flying rollers as a hobby or in competition. I`ve follower this thread from its start and I gotta admire them both for their enthusiasm. It did take me a while to understand Scotts approach but respect him for it now. " I get it Scott " I actually look forward to his posts. Go figure..LOL

Butch I do find Scott's post informitivive and interesting and I do understand what he is saying. I also understand what Cliff is saying, there are good and bad rollers on both sides of the fence and I hope that this tread does not discourage anyone from keeping what they want in their lofts. This hobby is suposed to be fun after all. How are things going for you Butch, we missed you at our last meeting. John

Ty, If I had a bur under My saddle, You would know it! For Years I have sat back and listened to certain People brag about Their Mutts, and dog the Pure Breed, and I never said a word until now. I am not "MEAN", or even "RUDE". Anyone that comes to My House to watch My Birds Fly, leaves with some if They want. I have just grown weary of all the crap that goes on. Hell, We are supposed to Fly Our WC Regionals in 15 Days,(I Think)and don't know the Day or Time. I have talked to some of the other Guys and They haven't heard anything either. I bet the "INNER CIRCLE" knows when Their Flying! LOL, Real nice Huh? If I had not already paid the fees, I would just say screw it. It's gotten to that point. So Yea, maybe I do have a friggin' bur, but I had alot of help gettin' it there. I would Love to have You answer those 3 questions I ask You. Might raise some eyebrows eh? Later.

O.K. I can bust these guys balls as hard as anybody else, in fact I make sport out of it. But one thing that I never buy into is judging conspiracy theorys, it is one of the worst things imaginable for the sport, and unless someone witnessed every flyer flown and judged such a claim is a 100 0/0 baseless. Now along this line, I have flown under some poor judges and some fine judges, and with some of these poor judges God only knows what was scored and placed well, but what keeps me going is every year it is a new fly and a new judge and we start anew. An example is the judge for that regions W/C this year is Brian Midaugh if I understood it correctly, Brian can't be swayed, nor will he throw out stupid scores, like I said, new judge and new fly.

Hey John that's the very thing that Tony is trying to avoid here. I try to to stay out these debates because I don't compete and not because its my choice.but Like Scott said "every year is a new fly and a new judges and we start anew"..... to me that's why this sport is great.. can you imagine the same judge every year.. Brian Middaugh top of the line to me.. ---------- Ralph.

Chuck or John, I will fly against either one of you on any given day. I'm not a betting man but Ive stood under Chuck's kit before so you set the terms. My origional start in comnp birds came from a feather merchant about 2 years ago. One of them had Cliffs band on and thats how I met Cliff. The birds Cliff gave me were set aside for Chuck but he chose to fly Jacs instead. Maybee that is a bur ? I origonaly got 2 kits from Cliff, both kits were young birds, some of them were still flying stiff , not even spinning. I flew them out, I worked out the feed, and I got them ready for the fly. To insinuate that Cliff or Wendell Carter would Give me something is total BS ! and if you will look at the finals I placed higher than Clay Hoyle who was judged by Cliff also in the regionals. Clay scored higher than I did in the regionals and if we did not have 2 qualifiers I would never had made the finals. Georgia has no active region to date so I flew with the NC region on my dime of travel expense. In the finals a local flyer who knows you pretty well Chuck came down, he fly's Jacs also. His exact words were . That was the best kit ive ever seen, I hope I can achieve that in my birds. Pick up the phone and call George. Chuck you need to grow up, the inner circle BS is just that BS. George, I'm not a big fan of the 20 bird, and with stocking the core of my 11 bird last year. That put me in a position of trying to find replacements using 08 and 09 birds, which have not had enough time to work as a group together yet. I'm just now getting in the position of getting out of my stock loft what I wanted. This is taking time to prove out new breeders, and find "click" pairs, as everyone has to go through at one point or another. The stock loft has been my main goal for the past 2 years, and I didn't want to take away from it trying to fly a 20 bird kit. Next year May be a possibility for me to fly a 20 bird kit, but first things first.

I had a overfly and lost six Birds from my A team three weeks ago ,then two days ago I got hammered by the BOP and I lost three more Birds from my A team.
When we had the "Pensom tribute" I flew my # 1 and #2 Kits and I let the crowd cherry pick which Birds they wanted to bid for in the auction .
The kit I have now is a ragtag group of birds and if I can score any points I will be surprised !

Ty, You stood under ONE of My kits, ONE time. Cliff never set aside any Birds for Me, I would not want Them. No bur there. I have talked to George, in Georgia, and He told Myself and Danny Horner that Your Kit hardly rolled at all, and You blamed Eldon Chaney on RPDC and EARLS LIST. YOU need to grow a set and quit crying about how Your Kit is Judged. You know nothing about Region 1D, except what Your Hero tells You. Chuck

Twist and turn or even lie if you want , George and Nancy were here and even called several times afterward. I know what he said to my face. And I'll add I did grow a set and have not said a word in a long time about old Eldon and I even had a few words with Cliff about birds he didnt score either,That was a rookie mistake to second guess a judge after a fly, now it's time for you to grow yours and quit crying about you not running your region. And to add Cliff didn't say he set birds aside for you. It came from another flyer with no reason to lie. Play your games if you like, and continue to make yourself look worse than you alredy have. I'm done. ---------- Ty Vapor Trail Lofts`

If Cliff responds, and is truthful, He will also say I did not, or do not, want that Family of Birds. Ty, I am not playing games, and I have no reason to lie.
